EMDR · Hypnosis · Insight-Oriented Therapy
Not accepting new patients
You don’t have to earn your worth by getting everything right.
Dr. Citrin works with people who are capable, driven, and used to holding themselves to a high standard, but who may also be carrying the impact of difficult, invalidating, or traumatic experiences. Those experiences can shape how you see yourself, how much you trust your reactions, and how much pressure you feel to stay in control. Therapy can help you understand those patterns, rebuild self-trust, and move through life with more flexibility and less fear.
About Leora
Her style is direct, collaborative, and intentional. She tailors therapy to what each client needs, blending insight, practical skills, and deeper processing to create meaningful change.
What that usually looks like
- 01Feeling pulled into overthinking, checking, reassurance-seeking, or other repetitive behaviors that give temporary relief but leave you feeling less in control.
- 02Tolerating uncertainty is hard, whether it is about your health, your relationships, a decision you made, or whether you did something “right.”
- 03Second-guessing yourself or invalidating your reactions, especially after difficult, toxic, or confusing relationships
- 04Intense pressure on yourself to avoid mistakes, failure, or disappointing others, and can getting stuck in black-and-white thinking when things feel uncertain.
- 05Finding yourself repeating the same compulsive behaviors or emotional reactions, even when you understand it is harmful to yourself or others.
“You do not have to choose between being successful and being kind to yourself.” *

How I Think About the Work
I think good therapy should help you understand yourself more clearly, but it should also help something actually shift. Many of the people I work with come in feeling frustrated or stuck after previous therapy has given them insight without enough change.
My approach draws from both DBT and ACT, which I see as closely related ways of helping you understand the patterns that keep you stuck while also building a different relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My background in health psychology also shapes how I work—I pay attention to the whole picture, including the relationship between emotional, behavioral, and physical experiences.
I am direct when it is useful, while always being thoughtful about when and how to challenge you. I also integrate EMDR and clinical hypnosis when they can help us move beyond insight and work with patterns at a deeper level.
