Clinical Hypnosis

Evidence-based work with the regulating mind

For anxiety, emotional regulation, mind-body symptoms, behavioral change, and emotional eating - clinical, focused, and nothing like the stage version.

Evidence-Based Clinical Hypnosis

Our approach to hypnosis is influenced by both Ericksonian and NLP traditions, using focused attention, imagery, language, and experiential techniques to work with patterns that can be difficult to shift through conscious effort alone.

Anxiety & Mind-Body Symptoms

Hypnosis can help work with the automatic responses beneath anxiety, tension, and stress-related physical symptoms — especially when you understand what is happening but your body continues to react.

Habits & Behavioral Change

Hypnotic techniques can help interrupt and reshape patterns that feel automatic, including habits, conditioned responses, and ways of reacting that have become deeply ingrained.

Part of Integrative Therapy

We often use hypnosis alongside other forms of therapy, including somatic work and trauma reprocessing, to support regulation, increase flexibility, and deepen the therapeutic process.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose control or be unaware of what is happening?
No. Clinical hypnosis is a state of focused attention. You stay aware, you remember the session, and you can stop at any point. Nothing happens that you do not allow.
How is this different from stage hypnosis?
Stage hypnosis is entertainment built around suggestibility and performance. Clinical hypnosis is a therapeutic method used by licensed clinicians for anxiety, pain, sleep and behavioral change, with a treatment plan behind it.
What is hypnosis actually useful for?
The strongest evidence is in anxiety, pain, sleep difficulties and mind-body symptoms, and in behavior patterns that have resisted conscious effort. It is also used to build the regulation that makes trauma reprocessing tolerable.
Can everyone be hypnotized?
People vary in how readily they enter a focused state, and that is worth knowing early rather than treating as failure. Your clinician will tell you early on if they don't think it is a good fit for you.
Does it work over video?
Yes. Hypnosis translates well to secure video sessions, provided you have a private space and can be undisturbed for the hour.
Will I be given suggestions I disagree with?
No. Suggestions are agreed in advance and shaped around your own goals and language. The process is collaborative and your therapist will check in with you on how it feels.
