Understanding yourself is the beginning. Change can go deeper.
You may already understand a lot about yourself—where certain patterns come from, why certain situations affect you, or what you wish you could do differently. That awareness matters. But sometimes, understanding something intellectually isn’t enough to change how it feels or how you respond in the moments that matter.
My work with clients is about helping that understanding become something you can actually experience differently. Together, we can explore the emotional experiences, relationships, and patterns that continue to shape how you see yourself and connect with others—while also making room for new ways of responding..
The goal is not to erase your past or become a different person. It’s to help you feel more flexible, grounded, and free to choose how you want to move through your relationships and your life.
About Micah
His work often supports people who feel disconnected, emotionally blocked, or caught in recurring relationship patterns. He also works with the lasting impact of family-of-origin experiences, internal conflict, and creative or professional blocks.
What that usually looks like
- 01A difficult childhood or other painful life experiences that still shape how you feel, relate to others, or see yourself today.
- 02Recurring relationship patterns that you understand intellectually but continue to find yourself repeating.
- 03Feeling like the life, relationships, or sense of self you want is somehow out of reach.
- 04A feeling that something is fundamentally "wrong" with you.
- 05Creative or professional blocks that feel frustrating, confusing, or difficult to move through.
“Sometimes the hardest part isn’t understanding why you feel the way you do. It’s becoming curious about what might still be underneath.” *
How I Think About the Work
I believe honesty and authenticity are at the heart of meaningful therapy. An important part of my work is building a relationship where you feel safe enough to be open with me, but even more importantly, with yourself.
That can mean getting closer to feelings, conflicts, or patterns that are easy to explain away, avoid, or understand only intellectually. There is no expectation that you arrive already knowing exactly what is wrong or having the right words for it. We pay attention together to what is happening both in and outside of the therapy room with curiosity rather than judgment.
While insight can help you understand why a pattern exists, deeper change comes from engaging with it in a new way within the therapeutic relationship. Over time, that work can create room for new ways of feeling, relating, and moving through your life.
